Course 1/Class 3

Last class in Course #1...we learned how to make roses, and let me tell you...I have a newfound admiration for cake decorators! They are NOT easy to make! The fact that my icing wasn't the right consistency didn't help much either, lol, but I was determined to at least get 3 on there!

I did Stars around the border...what can I say? I stick w/comfort.

You can see how my petals are ruffly on the top of the edges...my instructor said that it's because the frosting wasn't stirred right before being put into the bag...oy! All I can do is keep trying...
We also learned how to make Stems, Leaves, and Sweet Peas as well! I start Course 2 tonight, so we'll see how that goes! I need to go make 6 cups of frosting now...

Course 1/Class 2

Here's my cake from Class #2...we learned Shells, Dots, and the Rose Base.

Can you tell I was talking to people from the WDWCollege Program before my class (hence the yellow and red/Mickey)

Here's a close-up of the Dots, and I reverted back to the Star technique.

Shells are NOT my friend :) maybe w/some practice, lol! It's still fun to learn though!

Course 1/Class 1

Just started Cake Decorating Course 1 @Michaels, and this is my cake from the first class. I originally made this for a fund-raiser @hubby's work for "Relay for Life", but they needed small desserts, so we decided to keep this one for ourselves...several pounds later...

We learned stars...and writing...

Here's my hubby, wacking into the cake...

Gotta love cherry chip! I frosted it w/stiff consistency frosting...what a pain! I know better now, lol! Luckily, I wasn't the only one to learn that lesson the hard way :)

Pizza Puffs

These were trial and error one night, and Johnny LOVED them! I used crescent rolls as the dough in the photo, but we've since moved up to Pizza Dough...
I cut the pizza dough into squares, and place them in our silicon cupcake tray...then we found this great pizza sauce in a squeeze bottle (convenience in key!), I chop up pepperoni (for him), and put top it off with cheese! I thought they would just make for good snacks, but they filled us up! They're quick and easy to make...my only caution is, the sauce is REALLY hot! YUM!
